Where Pro sites get stuck

Tutor LMS Pro unlocks a long list of add-ons, from Course Bundle and Subscription to Content Bank, Content Drip, Certificates, Gradebook, Assignments, Zoom, Google Meet, Google Classroom, Reports and Email. Each is switched on separately and each has its own settings, data and quirks. Pro also adds ten extra quiz question types, more payment gateways, guest checkout, invoices and write access in the REST API.

Working with Tutor LMS Pro

Pro is a set of add-ons

In Tutor LMS Pro, features are add-ons enabled under Tutor LMS > Add-ons. Turning on only what you use keeps the admin clean and the site lighter. Some add-ons depend on other plugins: the WooCommerce Subscriptions, Paid Memberships Pro, Restrict Content Pro, BuddyPress, WPML and Weglot add-ons each need their plugin installed.

Version discipline

Tutor LMS Pro declares the core version it needs. If core and Pro do not match, Pro shows a notice and its features stop working. We update both together on staging and test before touching live. Our troubleshooting guides cover this in detail.

Extending Pro

Pro adds its own hooks on top of the core plugin, plus a REST API with endpoints to create courses, lessons and quizzes, manage enrollments and mark progress. Custom extensions use these hooks and endpoints. Certificates come from the Certificate Builder plugin, which stores templates as its own post type and feeds them to the Pro certificate add-on.

The new question types

Pro includes short answer, matching, image matching, image answering and ordering questions, and Tutor LMS 4 added Image Marking, Range, Pin, Graph and Puzzle questions. The newest five are not available in legacy learning mode, which matters if your site still uses it.
