Mapping data into Tutor LMS
The target structure
In Tutor LMS a course contains topics (post type topics), and topics contain lessons, quizzes and (with Pro) assignments. Quiz questions and answers live in their own tables, not as posts. Enrollments are posts of type tutor_enrolled. Lesson completion is user meta and course completion a comment record. A migration has to create each of these correctly, or Tutor LMS will not recognize the data.
Tools we use
Tutor LMS Pro includes import and export tools for courses, bundles, content bank collections, enrollments, orders, progress, subscriptions and plans, which are useful between Tutor LMS sites. From other platforms we write migration scripts that use WordPress and Tutor LMS functions, so the result is consistent and the scripts can be rerun after fixes.
Orders and foreign keys
Native eCommerce tables use foreign keys between orders, order meta and items. Imported order history must respect these relationships. Often it is better to keep historical orders in the old system or as records, and migrate only enrollments and active subscriptions. We help you decide.
Cutover
We freeze changes on the old site, run the final migration, check counts and samples, switch DNS or routes, apply redirects and watch errors and 404s for the following days. Read our migration guides for platform-specific notes.
