Our process

A clear process from first call to launch

Every Tutor LMS project follows the same steps, so you always know what is happening, what comes next and what you need to decide.

  • Written scope before work starts
  • Staging reviews at every milestone
  • End-to-end testing before launch

Why the process matters on an LMS

A broken brochure site loses a few visitors. A broken LMS locks paying students out of their courses, loses quiz results or sends the wrong certificate. That is why our process puts staging, testing and rollback plans before speed. It is also why the audit comes first on existing sites: we need to know which version of Tutor LMS and Pro you run, how courses are sold, which templates are overridden and which plugins hook into enrollment before we change anything.

How we test a Tutor LMS site

Every launch is checked against the flows your students and instructors use: registration and login, buying a course with each active payment method, enrollment and the student dashboard, lesson completion and progress, quiz attempts and grading, assignments, certificates, emails and the instructor dashboard, on desktop and mobile. You get the checklist with the results.

Six stages

How a Tutor LMS project runs

  1. 1

    Consultation

We learn your goals, audience, courses and constraints, and give an honest first opinion.

  2. 2

    Audit and discovery

For existing sites: theme, plugins, versions, customizations, data and performance. For new ones: requirements and user flows.

  3. 3

    Scope and proposal

Milestones, deliverables, price, timeline and acceptance criteria in writing.

  4. 4

    Design and build

Designs for approval, then development on staging with progress you can review.

  5. 5

    Testing and launch

Enrollment, payments, quizzes, certificates, emails and mobile tested end to end, then a planned go-live.

  6. 6

    Support and growth

Maintenance, monitoring and improvements, or a documented handover.

FAQ

Questions about our process

How long does a typical project take?
A focused customization or fix often takes days. A new Tutor LMS website or a migration usually takes a few weeks. Larger custom or enterprise builds are planned in milestones over several months. Your proposal states the timeline for your scope.
Do you work on our live site?
Only for urgent diagnosis when there is no other way, and with a backup first. All development and testing happen on staging.
What do you need from us to start?
Admin access to a staging copy (or to the live site so we can make one), hosting access for larger work, and the Tutor LMS Pro licence if the site uses Pro.
