A course bundle sells several courses together, usually for less than buying each one. Bundles raise the average order value and give students a clear path. In Tutor LMS, bundles come with the Course Bundle add-on in Tutor LMS Pro.
Step 1: Enable the add-on
Go to Tutor LMS > Addons and enable Course Bundle ("Group multiple courses to sell together"). Bundles are stored as their own post type, course-bundle, and get their own builder.
Step 2: Create the bundle
Open the bundle builder from the Tutor LMS menu and create a new bundle. The basic fields mirror the course builder:
- Title and description (AI Studio can help write them).
- Featured image.
- Categories.
- Pricing: free or paid, regular and sale price, and with the Subscription add-on, subscription plans with a billing interval, billing cycles and optional enrollment fee.
- Bundle Enrollment Period and Enrollment Expiration: when the bundle can be bought and how long access lasts. Bundle expiry was added in Tutor LMS 4.0.
Step 3: Add courses
Use Add Courses to pick the courses in the bundle. Each appears as a course item, which you can remove later. The option Enroll Existing Students in New Courses decides whether people who already bought the bundle get access to courses you add later.
Step 4: Certificates and extras
In the additional settings, choose whether to provide certificates for individual courses in the bundle, and add downloadable resources and the overview fields (benefits, audience, materials).
Step 5: Publish and test
Publish the bundle, then buy it as a test student. Check that enrollment in every included course is created and that the student sees them in their dashboard.
How bundle enrollment works
Buying a bundle enrolls the student in the bundle and gives access to its courses. Tutor LMS treats bundles as purchasable items alongside courses, so they work with native eCommerce, coupons (which can apply to all bundles or specific bundles) and subscriptions.
Pricing strategy
- Price the bundle at a clear discount to the sum of the courses, often 20 to 40 percent.
- Build bundles around an outcome ("Become a data analyst"), not just a pile of courses.
- Use bundle expiry for time-limited programs or annual access passes.
- Show the bundle on each included course page as an upgrade.
Bundles vs memberships
A bundle is a fixed set of courses bought once (or by subscription). A membership gives access to a whole catalogue or category, usually recurring. If you keep adding courses and want ongoing revenue, compare with subscriptions and memberships.
Frequently asked questions
Can a course be in more than one bundle?
Yes. Students who own the course through any route keep their progress.
Can instructors create bundles?
Instructors can submit bundles; depending on your settings they are reviewed before publishing ("Course Bundle submitted for review").
Do bundles work with WooCommerce?
Bundles are designed around Tutor LMS native eCommerce. Check your setup if you sell through WooCommerce.
